Iris Drawing in Persian Painting

Islamic school of art and UNESCO’s Islamic art club are presenting a joint online course on Drawing Irises in Persian Painting (Golo Morgh)

Introduction:

Persian Painting of Golo Morgh is one of the most delicate forms of art that is used for decorating books, especially the covers. Although they are mainly used on books but this beautiful form of art is widely used on buildings, fabric, accessories and etc. in Iran. One of the main elements of this art is the flowers used in it and one of the most used flowers are the Iris flower.

Course outline:

Learning detail to detail is a great method to learn art now days and Since there are deferent styles of Iris flower in Golo Morgh painting learning the right method to draw this beautiful flower it’s a must approach toward learning Golo Morgh.

What you will learn:

1. Deferent types of Iris flower in Golo Morgh
2. Coloring method of this flower
3. How and where to add details on each type flower

Tools you would need for this course:

1. A4 papers
2. sharp pencil
3. paint brush(size: triple zero & zero)
4. gouache color

Course plan and timing:

This course will start after at least 5 complete registrations. There will be 2-3 sessions for this course(depending on different factors such as the number of the participants, if we have more than 6 person in the class we will need more time on correction so we will need a complete session to cover that).
Each session would be about 2 hours long (upon request the timing of each class could be decreased and in return the number of sessions would increase) so the course is a 15-hour teaching course but you will be in touch with the instructor throughout the course by our WhatsApp number.
Due to time differences, we will need to adjust a time that is suitable for everyone in the course our first option is 5 pm Tehran time (+3:30 GMT) but this time might change upon participants request (we do understand your conditions in different parts of the world so we will try our best to adjust everything as smoothly as possible).
